Things you can do in Launceston to feed your Winter Curiosity!
We know that there is lots of things to do in Launceston, but where to even start? We can’t do it all in one day that’s for sure, so we came up with some ideas for every type of trooper.
It really is going to be Winterlicious! Watch out for food specials this Winter at some of Launceston’s restaurants and cafes across the City. Breakfast in Launceston is also a treat with plenty of venues offering smashed avocado, big breakfast, eggs hollandaise and all of the classic favourites. The inner foodie may be tempted by other offerings from local restaurants, did someone say breakfast risotto with poached rhubarb?!
If kids are taking up most of your days (and nights), chances are you’re after an activity to please every member of the family. See the monkeys in the park to get the youngins chatting for hours post visit, then venture into the mall maybe even the Kingsway to some recently opened locations. Just around the corner is the village cinemas, if the sun isn’t shining, this is a great alternative.
You can’t visit Launceston city without seeing the sights.
How about exploring the Gorge? Did you know that the chair lift is the longest single span chairlift in the world! After your visit why not take the 15 minute stroll past Royal Park and hydrate at one of the many Cafes. An afternoon mission? It’s 5.00 somewhere, so why not try some Tasmanian vine from the Tamar Valley at one of the pubs in Launceston.
We have all seen Launceston before but sometimes that means we also take it for granted and look over the little things that make Launceston Special. Pair your weekend outing with something you would not normally do, for example maybe a walk through City Park, or visiting a restaurant that you wouldn't normally visit. It’s all about experiencing new things in Launceston City.
The Empty Nesters
It’s all about you! Live it up, splash out on a lovely dinner with friends or loved ones. Perhaps take a visit to some of the favourite Launceston Restaurants along Brisbane Street, George Street and Charles. Life is too short to eat bad chocolate and drink cheap wine!
